Patchelicious Posted June 28, 2015 Share Everyone is going the standard carbon route. What about looking a little outside the box and going with ti? My dream bike - a hand crafted Moots Vamoots RSL (But then I think you'd need to mortgage your house for a frame)Stunning!!

eddy Posted June 28, 2015 Share Got some of my guys traveling to London next week. If they bring it back as luggage is there any duties? The way it's done is that you go over to London with a cheap bike in a bike box (because 'you're going on a bike tour'). Then you leave that cheapo there and come back with the new one in your bike box. :This is not necessary if you bring in a frame only as there are no duties on a frame, only on complete bikes. Bring in a frame as part of luggage.
The_black_stig Posted June 28, 2015 Share Best way to get your hands on the Canyon? Do check the availability of the frame on their website first, even framset alone can have waiting period (unless you're getting a XS or XXL size frame) IMO If budget is really an issue, the Canyon Ultimate AL SLX frame-set is another option.A complete built-up bike with this frame can easily goes below 7Kg and the chain-stay is as stiff as the carbon version. Frosty Posted June 28, 2015 Share Got some of my guys traveling to London next week. If they bring it back as luggage is there any duties?Holy cow Canyon R52 000 just for the frame at current exchange rates Double that of the others....No duties on a frame but VAT is due... FOB value * Ex.Rate * 1.1 * 0.14 = VAT amount. On that R52K frame, VAT is R8,008 - don't declare it and get caught = big trouble. If it's a complete bike, different story. You can take the cheapy in a box and bring the complete bike back. Edit: spelling
