Join us all the way home or just through the dodgy part....ride is on everyday, come rain or shine.Ok awesome, thanks for the note Hairy. I join the cycle path at the Woodstock MyCiti stop as I cycle from Observatory to Century City. I normally get to the path around 5.15pm so think I will just wait for a small team before cruising further up the path.

It's not the first time that these tweets go unreplied. A typical response is to phone a number and report it or "it's not our responsibility". Instead of doing something about it and reporting the thing themselves. Yes, it is "just Twitter". But they have these accounts so that members of the public can contact them and it is no different to making a phone call or sending an email. It just happens to be more convenient for me. It is really disappointing as, someone who replied to my tweet said, it is yet another route that is deemed unsafe and cannot be used. I've stopped cycling around the peninsula by myself and this cycle lane has been unsafe for a while now (longer than a year?). - Fix the fences.- Put up signs.- Put up CCTV cameras.- Patrol the area.- Shoot these mother ******* in the nuts who continue to endanger our lives and take away our freedom and right to cycle (or run) there.
RustyHWR Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Bad one Stoffies!!! I also commute to work (Paarden Eiland) every day and stopped using thecycle lane since this incident. I rather come down Marine Drive into the oncoming traffic - know its wrong but much safer than the "cycle lane"...So sad that we got all these beautiful cycle lanes but rather risk our lives on the dangerous roads. Hope they find your bike and catch the culprits!!!!

Maru Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I am so sorry to heard that! I also cycle that route. This days only to Milnerton. I do not feel safe any more. I tried a few times to find a group, to cycle from Town to Table View in the morning and from Table View to Town in the afternoon, but no many people doing that, the usual is working in town.I also know people they decided to stop commuting because of this things, I do not want to be one more that quits ...Please let us know how we can help!
