its a long story, with locked gates across public roads, people doing strange things, and finally scapegoat being sacrificed, but all in good fun.

I am not bashing anyone for buying these products but I dont see why they are spending huge money on something that doesnt, to me, seem neccasary. So many people had garmins or whatever on their bikes on Epic yet my HR Monitor told me the exact info on the climbing I needed and it it what? Half the price? The routes are clearly marked and if you racing the marshalls tell you were to go and if you doing a training ride you normally ride with people and I doubt it that they dont know where you going?? You dont go "Lets just ride  got a garmin we wont get lost"

 

Yes go to JHB from Cape Town and I need to get to Standard bank, it will come in handy-maybe but the world wasnt lost without them before.

 

Do these things tell you your HR, power and stuff like that??

I tried getting this of my Polar 725I !!! did not work so I used the Garmin !!

Fully agree.  Another rich man's toy.

 

I would rather then save up for some form of power meter that will make you more efficient on the bike.
