Tried to find this topic from before - but can't find it.

How does one bleed brakes - Magura specifically, but also in general.

And where can I buy a Beeding Kit?

I made a bleed kit. Plastic vinegar bottle and 5 mm fish tank tube from the pet shop. Drill a 4,5 mm hole in the screw cap section of the bottle, squeeze the tube in there all the way to the bottom, part fill with mineral oil and use the spout to empty as needed. Cost about R15.00 plus oil. Get the oil at Midas or a BMW dealers spares dept.

Bleeding of brakes is my all time "crap maintainence job"

If you get yourself a kit, follow the instructions...

Formula are easier to bleed than Avid. principle is usually the same, pushing out old mineral oil/dot5.1 fluid, replacing with new, removing air bubbles.

Tips, wear gloves especially with dot 5.1 fluid - that stuff burns the sealer off floor tiles.

cover your work area with enough newspaper. have alcohol handy (for consumption and cleaning away spilt oil on bike components/frame). bring patience and a sense of humour

keep your brake pads well away from your job. use brake blocks to keep your pistons properly spaced to avoid the inadvertant duff of "the pulled brake lever with no wheel in place"

just another tip for you DIY bleed enthusiasts (and im not saying you aren't)

make sure that you are using the correct fluid/oil for your make of brakes

if you use the wrong one ie dot fluid(which is corrosive) in shimano etc you are slowly wrecking your seals etc and you will kill your brake set
