Wieletjies Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I was riding this morning past the Spes Bona turn off when an approaching pedestrian attempted to pull me off my bike as I passed him. Tallish guy, wearing a blue overall with red brown beanie. Perhaps not too smart to ride on one's own at 5 in the morning.

'Dale Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I've heard of a few other assaults and hi-jacking in the D Ville -Bellville area in the Tyger Valley surrounds.All pre-dawn.Sometimes the perpetrators are peeps in a car. Watch out in the dark.Watch on isolated routes.Watch out when alone, in the dark and isolated.
Wannabe Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Also had a youngster make a grab at my handlebars a few months back.But he ran away quickly when I turned around to confront him.This happened right infront of the Phisantekraal turn off.

A few months ago 4 of us were returning around lunch time on a Sunday and a group of about 10-15 young men were standing on the Fisantekraal bridge. They walked quite aggressively towards us as if trying to force us off the road. Luckily we had enough energy left to really up our pace and they must have felt it wasn't worth it since there were four of us. But one was carrying a knife. It all happened very fast. I will no longer do that stretch without a group and preferably not a ladies only group.
