Gen Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Earlier??!!!???!!?? WTF I planned all my meetings around getting home for 15h30 so that I could watch this properly! ????????????[emoji17] I'm going to have to stream it while watching my son's tennis matches.. the more likely scenario is.. my eldest son will stream it while i am watching the youngest play and give me updates.. Well until he has to go to tennis practice. . Whata mess.. all this because of a tennis match that was postponed to today.. Oh crap no.. it's going to he bust. . The youngest one also has archery after tennis matches. . What a gemors. Well I did set the pvr to record it.. so I can watch later.. just not live[emoji25]
Wannabe Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Well I did set the pvr to record it.. so I can watch later.. just not live[emoji25] That's the heartbreaking part, I forgot to set mine. And then there is some shopping chores to be done before I get to go home to watch. I might just be in time for the presentations!!

I might just be in time for the presentations!! [emoji107]If it wasn't for the fact that I logged onto here while having my early morning coffee this morning.. I wouldn't have seen the post about coverage as normal and I thought. Wait lemme check cause the queen stage is normally broadcasted from earlierand I went to check. . . So phew for thatThat's the heartbreaking part, I forgot to set mine. And then there is some shopping chores to be done before I get to go home to watch. tombeej Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 This is such an impossible stage that the main GC guys will just sit in until the final section of the final climb. It will be suicide to do anything else. So I don't see any fireworks from them until the final few kays to the line. They will have their whole teams looking after them the whole way because of the risk of big time losses due to mechanical/crash/bonk. The gruppetto are going to be knuckling down for a very, very, very hard day in the saddle. It's going to be a big group that huddles together from the first climb and will all help each other get to the finish inside the time limit. So with the GC guys and their teams not wanting to get involved, and a very big gruppetto, who is targeting this stage then? My prediction is that the 2nd tier climbers from the smaller teams will see this as a big opportunity. There's a chance for them to get away early, build a 8 - 12 minute advantage, and then try and hold it together to the last climb. Such as... Louis MeintjesPierre RollandDavid ArroyoJo DombrowskiFrank SchleckKenny ElissondeAll the Colombians And then there'll be some all rounders who can climb who will want to be in the break. Guys like Thomas De Gendt and Sylvain Chavanel.
Nibali Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Go on the MAINCHEESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frosty Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 With Main Cheese sitting pretty in 12th place on the GC, I can't see the peloton allowing him too much time. He is 2' 25" down on Dumoulin and just over a minute down from the main GC contenders. The rest of the Qhubeka team are more than an hour down. Schleck (17' 56") and Rolland (50' 28") are good bets. I'd add De Marchi, Cummings, De Gendt and Chavanel to the list of potential breakaway candidates.
tombeej Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 After the scorching first week, the weather will be cool today with a max. of 15 degrees and a 50% chance of rain. It might be nice and cool with a chance of a bit of rain in the valleys, but I'm sure those mountain summits will be frigid at the top with much crapper weather than down below. It's going to be a busy day for the soigneurs and team cars, getting jackets to the guys at the top of climbs, hot tea in the bidons at the summits, lots of food all day. And of course, most of their riders separated my many minutes across the route (decisions to make on who to stay with and who to leave to their own devices....).

His eye on final GC now, so makes sense that he'll just sit in with the rest of the GC guys and wait for the finale.
deanbean Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Damn, and I forgot about the stage and organised with a buddy to spend the afternoon reloading. PVR it'll have to be Go Maincheese...
T-Bob Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Definitely worthy of a repost http://www.letour.fr/PHOTOS/VUE/2015/1100/PROFIL.png Over 5500 mfrs of climbing today, jeez it's not like they are all EPS category climbs. Bunch of moaning light weights.

Holy crap.I've done 6000m in a weekend and I had to take a few days off otherwise I was headed for the physio table. Can't imagine doing those numbers every day for 10 days.
