Rocket-Boy Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I have given people scripts before with only "bedrest" and "water" wrote on them... oh the frowns I got Ive always enjoyed peoples amazement when I refused to give antibiotics...And yet those scripts were 100% correct.
Rocket-Boy Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 The swim is normally what gets people when they are sick and try do a triathlon. Afaik the two fatalities at the 70.3 in EL two years ago were people with the flu who tried to race anyway.I could be wrong but that was what I heard.

I would make you my doctor in a heartbeat if you were Joburg based... I hate getting prescribed antibiotics for any minor illness. I often don't even fill in those scripts...
reteid Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 nature heals , the dr writes the bill. please take note that this is not a flaming of the medical advice given here above, but just to say that imho there is not much you can do apart from definitely not racing.at best you can try to make the effects more bearable.rest plenty of water and practice your hobby another day.btw I am off with flu? for the last 3 weeks.hope you heal soon.i am taking vit c,drinking water, resting as much as I can and sleeping.rather than racing coming weekend I volunteerd as a marshall.

Exactly my love hate relationship for my doc. First time I saw him he told me I've got bad news and good news. Bad news is there is nothing I can give you physically that will help you, good news you don't have to by meds. Ever since, when I need to see him for the same symptoms he is like ,yep you guessed it - today you paying me for a lovely conversation . I like his honesty and his goal is always to not give anything UNLESS it is really, really needed.
