Whoohoo. Schurter does it again!

Now, I'm a big Shurter fan, but I'm just wondering...he sits behind Absalon in the last lap, "chilling" until the last moment before he attacks? Isn't it a bit of a d**k move - drafting till the last opportunity?

Chilling? If he can chill at Absalons race pace then its def not a dick move but rather clever tactics

Great ride by Rourke

In XCO you don't save energy drafting, definitely not behind one person

Nino.. almost always starts very fast and Julian has to play catch up for a lap or so.. .. in Cross country it's always full gass... def no resting and wheel sucking)

I am now currently on 6 laps to go (spent the day at the cricket, so catching up on all the cycling I missed)

It's pacing, not really drafting and yes it does allow for some recovery. That is a part of the tactics in XCO, gets played by everyone.

Sometimes the rider in front may accelerate/attack to break the rhythm of the rider/s pacing them or to gauge their strength. Might well have been Absalon felt he could take Nino on, or rather imho with a loss of front tyre pressure couldn't make any real tactical moves and was playing things out.

Yeah I was just wondering, didn't really doubt Nino's capabilities of winning the WCup this year! And the amount of pace he out in the first laps - amazing!

Now for the World Champs! :D
