Been very strict since Tour de Tuli, came back from the Tuli at 81kg (lots of food and G&Ts there!!), 18 August, this morning 75.9kg :)

5kg in 4 weeks, I'm telling you, the 1000cals deficit a day = 1kg per week :)

Was told that we will have pancakes and beer for a birthday celebration...

Just calmly told the lady that I will give it a skip.  Working to get the weight off and then slipping on a day for the sweetest punishment is not worth it.

Thanks Oom Ben.

Yeah, felt it this morning.  Was tired on the bike struggling up a realised that it all was my own doing.  I am to blame and no one else.  Not even the wife who bought the Coke and bread and sugar and all those things.  It is real easy... Just say NO!  I don't care what the fellow work people think and say.  It is my body, it is my weight and I have to get my fat arse up Meiring Naude every morning and evening.  And compared to 2013 I take longer to climb and I feel super crap when the uphills are done.  And even though I feel great on some hills, STRAVA is a good measure to compare my performance.  It gives me hope and I know that cutting foods I love (all the sugar I can eat) will in the long run, help me much more than that 210 seconds it takes to eat half a slab of chocolate and the little joy I get out of that...

I slipped up this morning. Had a coffee with half a sugar. Feeling a bit of laryngitis coming on, and I had a muffin yesterday :(

Had to limit my dinner quite severely to stay within the 1,500 per day. Went over by 150 thanks to that muffin.

Breakfast today though was egg and bacon. Not hungry yet... Good start to the weekend

I'm gonna drop the ball Sunday after R4V. I will treat myself with a nice burger and beer. The best part is at home. You get these cranberry and white chocolate biscuits that is just awesome. I can't remember when I last had these.

From Monday I will hit the ground running again until Satellite Classic.

Thanks for all the comments on this thread

It has really inspired me to go to the next level

a Question though: I am seriously addicted to coffee,

How much am I allowed to have per day if I do not add any sugar?

Its only the milk that has some lactose (also a sugar) that is a bit of a problem.

I have about 6 cups a day, with a splash of milk, no sugar, and that is only 6cals per cup and about 1g of carbs per cup, so suip away! :)

As for the negative effects of caffeine, I couldn't be bothered and also cant comment :)

I just love this thread...

Started the "NO SUGAR" on Monday so its only been 4 days but i'm really looking forward to the results.

Must say that i only take in natural sugars from the fruit i eat and by reading this thread going to cut out the sauces as well.

Good luck to all the fellow hubbers that's on this and lets keep the results coming.

well, you'll burn about 3 000 Kcal during the race, so you can have this with pudding....or just have 2

Speaking of food, are the food/ vibe at the venue good or shall I go eat elsewhere? I don't expect gourmet, Jamie oliver stuff, but as long as it's not k@k. The beer must be cold, however. That is non negotiable

I have been warming up making space all week for that :)
