FrequentFaller Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I'm considering turning my Merlin 26" into a 69er... First stumbling block is sourcing a 29er fork with straight steerer. Are the any available and any recommended options?

Monark Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I have the same issue... finding a straight steerer 29er fork is not easy. Evobikes have the Rockshox Recon Gold in stock. That's all. CWC don't stock straight steerer forks.

Or, some would say, leveraging the same principle used in offroad motorbiking where the rear is used for drive (17", 18") and the front is used for handling on rough terrain (21"). @ Monark: Thanks for the tip, looking at the site now...

FrequentFaller Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 It's not with its caveats...with a fork set at 100mm of travel and a slammed (-6deg?) stem it should be close to normal riding position. CoG is moved up, no doubt and will affect handling.
