Hi Guys

I bought a crank with the wrong BB from CR which doesn't fit my Cervelo.

I require the following:

BB30 (what I bought) to BSA Converter (what is compatible i the Cervelo P4)

Anyone know where I can get hold of this or any other advice?

Thanks

So there are 3 parts in play here:

  • Frame
  • BB Bearing Set
  • Crank
So I'm assuming you have:
  • BSA Frame
  • BB30 Bearing Set
  • BB30 Crank
You can't get a BB30 Bearing Set to BSA Frame adaptor because the bearings of the BB30 sit inside the frame, and the hole in the BSA frame is too small for the bearings to go in. If you try move the bearings outside of the frame, then the BB30 Crank is too narrow.

If I've assumed wrong, and you have :

  • BSA Frame
  • BB30 Bearing Set
  • BSA Crank
Then the easiest is just buy a BSA Bearing Set.

hubber enzo(something) works for CapeCycle System, ask him for the SRAM one.

The newer ones are apparently much better, with less kreek kreek!

Otherwise like NSBB stated many a bike shops will have 'em

As far as I know the P4 has a BBright BB which uses a PF30 BB that's wider "79mm" than a standard PF30 "68mm Road & 73mm MTB".

This all means that a standard BB30 Crankset will not work, because the Crank Spindle is to short. The only manufactures who make Cranks with a 30mm extra long Spindle are Rotor, FSA, Cannondale & Raceface (MTB).

So if you Frame indeed has a BBright BB shell and you have bought a Standard BB30 Crankset no matter what you do it's not going to work.

So you have two options, either buy one of the above (make sure it will work with a BBright Frame) or buy a Sram GXP or Shimano Hollowtech Crankset along with the corresponding adapters which "droo" has mentioned.
