Had a rough ride yesterday as we went south to cape point. Had to stand and pedal into the wind!!!

Forecast shows a perfect day starting north west with light drizzle swinging the o south west by mid morning.

This is good for early start groups cos it means they won't have a lot of wind pressure to work against.

Definitely shaping to ideal conditions for some fast times

Remember to drop your tire pressures a bit, if it does rain.

What do you recommend it should be? I have normal clinchers and ride with S-Works tyres at 9bar.

Edrop the pressure so you have a compliant tyre. You don't want your tires so hard they bounce off every stone on the road. That's going to make for sketchy handling in the corners. A good rule of thumb is 10% lower than what you run in the dry.

Africa Weather has the following to say this morning:

I like this forecast. The wind will be at your back all the way home!! If you capetonians can organise this (and protect the mountain from them smokers) so that I can ride my maiden sub 3, I will shout for the stormers for the rest of the year........OK, maybe only for the next game. A sub 3 is not THAT important.

About 5.5 - 6.5 if you're 70 kgs

'Dale, you rode part of the route yesterday.

Go to to the training ride thread and explain how the wind was yesterday.

About 5.5 - 6.0 if you're 70 kgs

Don't forget tyre width also plays a part. If I ran 5 bar in my 22mm tubbies I'd pinch flat if I hit anything bigger than a 10c piece an I am 60kg.

Yes!

This is what I use for 25mm wide rubber.

Bike handed in for transport. Looking for profile and some real data for around 3h. I have just realised my data was erased/lost from the Garmin site when they migrated to the new site. Anyone?

Hi Talus.

I have a sub 3 on file. Tell me what you need?

I just looked- I have 700x24cm and I weigh 91kg's.

I see the recommended pressure is 7.0 - 8.6 bar.

being 90kg's perhaps 7.0 should be better in the rain?

Anything lower end like 7-7.5 then for your spec
