There is a fire, but it is nowhere near the route, and not as big as last year's fires.

Not to worry, you can come down to the beautifull Cape, you will have the full experience this year.

Look I'll be coming down no matter what, even if it's to race up till the hospital and back. Thanks for the update.

Can't freaking wait.

I guess it doesn't really matter now... bike dropped off this morning for the trip to the Cape, I fly out on Thursday... amped to just be going to the mother city !!

Rumours going around up here in joburg that there is a fire on table mountain as we write. Can you locals confirm? I really really would like to ride full distance this year.

There have been a couple over the last month or two - fortunately brought under control fairly quickly in most instances.

What is a realistic goal to set for the ARGUS this weekend on my MTB?

Seeded: 1C

Looking for a +- 3:24

1C on a MTB. Ready for a spinning session? If the weather is good and you can hold on with MTB gearing I think that group should be a bit quicker than that.

seriously considering leaving it at home, haha. Otherwise I will just be chasing sunrise and sunset which means not enough rest for Sunday...

Have a tripod sitting at my mates place from December so maybe not such a mission to carry a small bag with 1 body and the wide angle.

We expect a little photo-report of your trip. Also, the Cape has been in fine form lately! :D

Hi Talus.

I have a sub 3 on file. Tell me what you need?

Some real life splits and the actual times climbing the hills. I don't have much faith in the calculator.

Lol. Seriously just put on whatever tyres you want. You'll be fine. Don't overthink it too much.

Hi guys,

Is there perhaps a list available of 'what to expect at the refreshment stations'? I'm doing a looooooong slow one (5-7 hours with plenty of stops). Can't find it on the website.
