Any of the locals have anything on this ? I am not keen on spending 10k+ to get to Cpt only to hear that there has been a detour... There was close to 750 people on chappies yesterday, while I was there, nobody died. People need to just chill out, more risk of an old lady opening her door into you in Sea Point than being smashed by a rock on Chappies.

I guess there's always that possibility.Chappies is officially closed at present as far as I know, although weekend cyclists are using it unperturbed.The increasing number of fires is the other concern.Will it even allow for the alternative Ou Kaaps detour.?Has any more thought gone into detours post 2015, or will it remain the M3 dash.?

Someone even attacked pure sausage as we were climbing Suikerbosie chatting about how fun the gravel at the 99er is going to be. Guy kept looking back checking if his break stuck. (Pretty sure I saw a hand raise at the top as well )

He was pissed at Cape Town for dishing a real shitty experience

He had no sleeves, rocking herbalife and some headphones so we could not congratulate him when he pulled over to heave up a lung.
