Still don't see the point of speedplay pedals for weight weenie style pedals...sure the pedals are light, but all the weight sits on the cleat under your shoe...

Weight is weight.  Whether it is under the shoe, on the wheel, round your waist or even on your head!  Doesn't matter where it is, it's bad.

Agreed...

Looking at the similarly priced

Speedplay Zero (Stainless) = 206g (pedals) + 115g (cleats) = 321g

Look KEO Carbon (CrMo) = 230g (pedals) + 69g (cleats) = 299g

They were talking about your weight on a small patch under the shoe. You get hotfoot from this on long heavey rides no mater what shoe you are using. For Me a bigger platform is always better.
