Freaking hell.. I forgot I am not allowed to say things about Spez as I bought a second hand tarmac. . Are there allowances for me.. as it is second hand and older?

Dammit

My Tarmac was previously owned when I got it...and I say things about Spaz...

You have carte blanche...

And out comes the troll card...

Two cards bikehub can rely on

Race card

Troll card

Yeah, these trolls are a dime a dozen. I sincerely hope Spesh HQ is following this fred and are going in on the potential fraud with second hand frames being warranteed.

Is it only me that seems to think there is something fishy about someone buying a bike on the hub...and the cracks only being discovered as the private sale is being concluded?

Hmmmmmm...are those bells I hear...?

Sjoe ok...

Glad to know I am knob head because I have an Epic... Didnt know I was such a wannabe loser.

I clearly have 3 choices here, sell my Spez, kill myself before its too late, or ignore people who make generalist statements and rather focus on the topic at hand here, which is about OP and Graham.

If we feel like bashing Spez owners, there is a whole thread just for that, its actually very entertaining here you go...

A Spez concept store with an attitude problem, surely not?. Only way you will get me into a concept store is if Sagan is there doing autographs or they have a free lap dance day.

To be fair there are a few that still have client relationships at heart Eben at Westrand always pops up as a good dude, but lots just seem to just ride the brand success.

You want a lap dance from Sagan? The mind boggles.

Does Gen know about this? Can I take pictures?

I beg to differ. Warranty upgrade is pretty standard practice across many brands. I've used it with diamond back, garmin, Cannondale, Oakley, bell, shimano heck even wap.

Sounds like the guy the op is dealing with just isn't very customer focused.

In all cases where I negotiated or was offered warranty upgrade I simply paid in the difference in wholesale list price between the warrantee item and the replacement. Even got the colour I asked for even if I had to wait a few weeks.

So despite the op buying a 2nd hand frame the shop has agreed to warranty the frame. They should supply the customers needs.

Can't be half pregnant

mmmm I am sure its not standard practise but rather a concession, dont confuse the two, the one would be noted in the warrantee fine print. The upgrades normally come in when the manufacturer can no longer supply the same item due to end of lifespan. They then offer upgrade path...Well that is what happened to me with my garmin.

Anyhow..back to topic. I think spez has met the guy halfway, his rant seems to be because they didn't want to go over and above(which some dealers do).

Mod note - Personal tiffs have been removed and warnings will be issued. Keep this on topic.

What was the topic again [emoji6]

Oh wait yes I remember a guy from a concept store that is bringing the WHOLE brand down.[emoji5]

It's simple.. ring ring.. hi Spez SA this is my problem, I am not happy with the service level that said guy is giving me and even though he submitted the claim on my behalf I would much prefer dealing to with the awesome guy at Melrose (if I remember correctly) can you accommodate me as I do believe if is in both our interests to deal with someone who is willing to walk the extra mile for me and therefore would also show the incredible customer relationship that Spaz offer their clients.
