He did mention 2014, but the orange paint scheme only became available on the 2015 frame from what I can find in the specialized archive

Sounding even dodgier to me now...

we have a spaz shop that opened here... they look at me funny when I walk in, it's probably because i never buy anything there...I have walked in about 5 times.

Maybe next time I will buy socks.. if they have funky ones.. wait it's a Spaz shop there will be only S's no funkiness.

*please forgive me, I believe the heatwave is getting to me*

S is for Sagan. Need I say more.

Apologies for all the hand-bags. Its not Friday after all.

Back to topic: In my view Specialized has done much more than what would be required in this case. I hope that the potential fraud in claiming on a second hand frame gets a second look at HQ, as these types of warrantee claims makes legit claims  down the line much harder.

Sorry we cant take you seriously. You are a subjective owner

I have been to most of the concept stores in the country

Charles Stander's store from KZN is probably the best, with the one in the Westrand in 2nd to me

It's really the staff who make or break a company ..

Definitely, by far the best bike shop in the area and the only one I'll ever support. Uncle Charles always goes out of his way to help and advise, and has even lent a tool without me even asking.

Only received good service from Lynnwood Cyclery, especially Ruben.

I spoke to Graham over the phone to get advice on a Venge that I bought on the hub and he came over as a very friendly and helpful dude.

Actually, it seems Spez didn't entertain the upgrade and left it in the hands of the dealer...now why would they do that?

IF and I'm sure once we have the other side of the story IF this warranty claim was on a second hand frame, then the dealer was going out of their way for the client as Specialized make it quite clear that the warranty covers the first owner only. That's why....

I think the OP wanted the original owner of the Orange frame to claim from Spez and then the OP wanted to dictate what the colour of the replacement frame should be. He didn't own the frame as yet but wanted to call the shots already.

What the OP should've done is let the original owner claim for the frame and also let the original owner state that they want to upgrade to an S-werks frame as replacement. The OP shouldn't have gotten involved in the whole claims process. Let the original owner claim and pick up the S-werks frame a week later and Bob's your uncle.

Oh and one more thing OP. You lost me @

"I have purchased 3 mountain bikes within the last year, Specialized Epic Comp, Elite & Expert for me & two sons,

So handed over serious money, for some serious machines, all cash purchase to dealer,"

I don't take well to boasting about ones financial "power". Not lekke!

I have dealt with Graham a while back and he seems like a lekke oke. Chatted about the new shop and the Stumpy\Camber and which one will fit my requirements.
