Sweet spot for me is 23mm front 25mm rear

Another way to look at is (compared to 23mm) 25 had 9% more volume, 28mm has 21% more volume

More volume. More contact with road. More bump absorption. More weight.

Same here for me. Changed from 23c gatorskins to 25c Schwalbe Durano plus and the ride felt noticibly smoother. That road vibration that I used to feel through the bars from the front wheel seems to have dropped by more than half.

Not that my bike isnt smooth. It is actually very smooth, but when one rides over certain rough sections, then there is a definite vibration over the bars. Almost like the rumble strips under a car.

Oh dear more grossly exaggerated pics that have no grounding in science...

You think 1mm either side changes the contact patch that drastically?

Lol, knew you were going to not like that picture :) Must still start that separate thread ;)

At OP, the biggest difference I have found was better comfort (buzz) and from a performance point, descending feel and grip.

Easy to solve. Just roll a 23 and 25 through a puddle of water at the same time and see the difference of the pattern.
