Pantano joined him at 45 kms out

Then went on to glory from there

What a ride by the IAM man

I think if he didn't have the mechanical/crash (still not clear) he would've taken the stage..

Just heard he crashed and broke his Spaz

He would've contended for a stage win as he looked potent

It's obvious that team Sky rotate the domestique duty for the maillot jaune, even on the mountain routes

Today was Poels and Nieve on duty

Didn't see Landa, Gee. etc

That's also how they maintain their dominant control by managing work load and optimizing team

freshness

Other teams must surely be doing this too

Sky is just made up of such quality riders

Nice. That's amazing.

Only fricken SABC channels here. WiFi is R500 a gig. If I knew I was going on holiday to 1992 I would have stayed at home

Bwahahaha... are you a stand up comic by profession, if not, you should consider it....????

I think the frustration can be seen in the scores on the FantasyTour.

Average points was 69, with only 59 scoring over 100 points.

It would indicate the top guys didn't really do much, perhaps saving themselves for the 3rd week.

I got in the region of 175! Maybe the top guys ARE doing something.... He-he.

Yesterday wasnt the day for Quintana, with the decent and flat part to the finish he was never going to get away.

Wednesday is a must with this finish...

I really disagree with the whole it doesn't suite him bit, to be a serious GC contender you should be able to feel confident enough to try something on any terrain..

One wouldn't say a descent attack suits Froome or a break with Sagan on a sprint stage suits Froome.. but as a GC contender and racer he just sent for it and it worked.

No doubt Nairo is a very good cyclist and a brilliant climber but he has no plan.. none at all..

The only plan he has is to hope Sky falter. And letting Sky set the pace for 2 weeks on their own terms isn't exactly a plan either.

So its Nairo vs Team Sky, and he is less than 3 minutes down going into stage 16, not too shabby for a lone wolf with no plan.
