Dstv is now officially giving me the Royal sh*ts. No replay of today on now so I had to come to the Hub to get the play by play. Somehow, it's not the same as watching. Sounds like it was one of the days to watch!

The replay was at 11pm and was for 30 mins, the 2 hour one starter at 12 and finishes at 2am!

So if Astana can build a team around a young guy and have a previous tour winner as one of his workers then why can't SKY?

I reckon they should sign Louis and get froome and co to pace him around France. If that guy had a decent team he could win the TDF. Instead he has 8 individuals in pink and purple having a 3 week jol on their bikes.

As much as I like main cheese it takes more than climbing ability to win a tour.

Im sure he will improve as time goes but you need to be great all round to do really well.

I think if Sky were to recruit a youngster as next GC contender, it would again be a British rider. It would be in keeping with their jingoistic nature to keep hiring Johnny Foreigner to work hard Yates who is English.

DDD clearly had a strategy to get wins out of Cavendish and it has worked extremely well; I suspect better than even hoped for.

As Cav won't be around for ever, it would be great if they build their next team around Louis as GC contender. I'm sure that for Cav's salary they could employ a few good strong climbers and get guys like EBH to shepherd him. And even better if he is joined by Darryl Impey.

It's all about WorldTour (WT) points - accumulate as many points for your team as possible to remain in the Tour. This is one reason for the reforms that is causing friction between the UCI, teams and event organisers. The biggest problem is that a rider takes the points with him when going to his next team, so the team loses those points.

Doug Ryder has explained it a few times, that for his team it's important to target certain races. Being in the WT, the are expected to race at nearly double the races compared to the previous years as a ProConti team.

Sprinters and stage victories was their strategy, and they had to be selective with their stages as 5th place only gets 1 points, compared to 20 points for first (at a Grand Tour).

So building a team around Louis would be great, but what are their chances of gaining as many WT points as possible. The UCI points is a different scoring system, as this takes results from the PC and WT which is used to determine rider allocation for World Champs, Olympics and other selective events.

Below are the points awarded for stage 1

And then, the points for the Giro (overall)

Hope this is the right place to post.

So, tomorrow I will by in centre of the universe, Paris!! Took a wide return trip from Austria. Any suggestion on the best plan of action tomorrow. Where and how late. I would like to be close to the finish, but I assume so does another few thousand other people. Also, where would be the best place to get some souvenirs.

Hope some Hubbers has been here previously and can give me some advice

Was there last year... it was raining and icy though...So got to the Champs Elysees as late as possible.

There's a women's race starting at 14h00 I think.

It will start filling up from there quite quickly and crowds will be 3-4 people thick.

Souvenirs - everywhere - won't miss it.

Start in the next few mins

Stage 20

Will Froome Dawg's busted knee give the rivals a slim chance of an upset?

Who will fill out positions 2 and 3 on the GC podium?

Don't blink...
