The other scenario for today is for someone in the break to win it.

This is a perfect stage for a small group of committed strongmen to get away in those last 65km (see profile below).

Gallopin would be a perfect candidate. I'm sure we're going to see him.

Those two lightys I agonised about putting in my team (but didn't) should be there too: Gougeard and Vakoc.

And if Tony Martin manages to get into the small break they'll have an excellent chance of staying away.

Vakoc and Martin are teammates, along with Alaphilippe. Quick-Step have to be eyeing this stage - it's perfect for them.

Martin and Vakoc in the break. Alaphilippe in the main bunch waiting for the end sprint if the break is pulled back.

Sean Yates (Tinkoff director): “Tomorrow’s sprint is more suited to Peter (Sagan) and if he’s strong like today he should be right up there again. There’s no 3km rule, so we’ll have to be up there at the end to the line with Alberto (Contador).”

I had quite a laugh yesterday when they showed Alberto Contador being patched up while still cycling, and the commentator said about the doctor "Looks like Leo Sayer.....'. :D

EBH is OK and will be starting today. Good news that.

Very good news..

Today's stage will suite him especially seeing that he has been climbing well..

I just hope the GC teams don't go and spoil it for the Puncheurs today.

Just watched the highlights as I was on a plane from JHB when the Manx Missile took yellow

Kittel had the speed endurance

But had his nose in the wind

Cav' read it all well and responded well by latching on to Sagz' wheel

Then launched himself

And, massive credit to the DiData roleurs for getting him into the right position as the final segment was twisty and narrow

Must say their kit looks cool

Hope he is more than OK. This was a stage for him. What a spectacle the finish promises to be.

Not to mention the weather conditions today. Can hardly wait for broadcasting to start..
