PETER SAGAN THE RECORDMAN

Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) has clinched the green jersey for the fifth consecutive time – providing that he completes the last stage within the time cut. He has 440 points. Runner up Marcel Kittel (Etixx-Quick Step) has 228. It's Sagan's biggest margin since he started his points competition campaign. Here are the different gaps in the past ten years although the points scale has not always been the same:

2016: Sagan > 212 > Kittel (before the last stage)

2015: Sagan > 66 > Greipel

2014: Sagan > 49 > Kristoff

2013: Sagan > 97 > Cavendish

2012: Sagan > 141 > Greipel

2011: Cavendish > 62 > Rojas

2010: Petacchi > 11 > Cavendish

2009: Hushovd > 10 > Cavendish

2008: Freire > 50 > Hushovd

2007: Boonen > 22 > Hunter

2006: McEwen > 89 > Zabel

50 points are awarded to the stage winner on the Champs-Elysées and 20 to the intermediate sprint winner at Paris Champs-Elysées highest point with 39.5km to go.

Belgian beer I gather

Non alcoholic maybe? Would they be allowed to race on a sip or two?

Is alcohol on the banned substance list? What is NOT on the list these days. In old days it was used to mask pain.
