I believe DMT also makes all the unique Nike shoes worn by Adam Blythe and Cav (Nike don't actually make road cyclng shoes, so DMT makes them for these two guys).

 

Adam Blythe has a real shoe fetish, it seems. He's got a serious collection of them.

And of course if we're on the topic of roadie shoes, we can't leave out ol' Adam Hansen and his one-of-a-kind custom moulded full carbon shoes (inc. the uppers) that weigh less than a feather, and which no other living human being would be able to wear.

A new record has been set for the most opening stages without an abandonment. All the racers has started and completed the first five stages. A grand total of a 1084k's done without losing anyone.

 

Edit: It's actually 1048k's, I was getting ahead of myself there it seems.

Cool statistic! I guess that attrition will start once the mountains start. I wonder what the single main cause of dropping out is?

Yeah Sam Bennett who rides for Bora Argon 18. Been hiding and suffering in the back of the peloton since the second stage after his stage 1 crash.

Cyclists would just plain make crap soccer players. If that was a soccer player he would be in ICU. And look at AC. Ok maybe he did/does - delete whichever applicable -  over-indulge on Spanish beef but if he was a soccer player he would be stretchered off never to return to the race.

Bad crashes usually, but illness is another big contributor. Depends a lot on the riders though too. Some continue to ride where others might choose to abandon. Remember Cancellara riding to the finish on the he broke his back in two places last year? Or Gee riding with a sore rib this year? Some fight others quit.
