A freaking DL Start for me. Anybody else in there willing to work towards rotating at the front for a sub 3?

 

I have previous times of 2:43 / 2:45 / 2:50 . This year: Fast One of 2:31 and R4S of 3:24 (Yeah this one sucks)

 

Last year only 14 people made it sub 3 in DL. Carpet and the Sherriff were the last of those 14 in DL

BL - 150

CL - 180

DL and later - 200

 

If you are normally in the lower end of BL at other races you might find yourself in CL and so it rolls over to DL.

 

AL starts after VC but before the Woman & U16 boys.

 

Then BL - LL for the rest of the 103km groups.

Seeding took into consideration your seeding index on the Racetec/PPA/whoever owns it website. That means almost every timed event in 2015 was considered, and if you still didn't have a seeding then it went back as far as 2013, with the penalty (1% per month after 5 months). There were no calculations - whatever the seeding index showed is what was used for your seeding.

 

Anyone without a seeding index on the website prior to 2013, was placed at the back of the queue. I've had requests to group friends together - sorry, if the person hasn't got a race history, there's nothing I can do. What's good for most, is good for the few.

 

In some circumstances, the lookup function did not pick up the combination of name, surname and ID number, so a manual search had to be done.

 

Name and surname was used on the Racetec results page, and then picked according to the birth date. 

 

Once this was done, everyone was ranked from 1- 3009.

Licensed groups were split out, as were tandems and the open groups for both distances were then ranked from 1 - X, where X = the number of entries.

 

 

Each person was then placed into a group based on the group sizes:

 

AL - 120

BL - 150

CL - 180

DL - 200

EL - 200

FL - 200

GL - 200

HL - 200

IL - 127

 

IL, JL, KL and LL are reserved for late entries.

 

This seeding run has been the most accurate in the history of this event, and you're in your group according to your number in the 1 - X ranking.

The sheriff and Carpet are in CL... they missed out on a BL group by 4 people.

Is there late entries in case Sabie is blocked off by the savages? 

VC has 140 starters, and might be over subscribed due to a certain number entering VB.

Best you get in early if your want to ride. The limit is 160.
