I have many conflicting thoughts about it.. my heart says he can do anything and cause an upset and medal.. my brain says he is just going be lacking that race experience against the top guys and it is telling me that Nino is imo untouchable.. the way he won worlds was something incredible and he wants this so much.

 

So my conclusion is once again top 10 on race day[emoji23] [emoji23]

Fire update.. the fire is out no major damage to the course or building in the bike park.. some signage and course markings melted but all in all good to go..

How does it work with bike support ie would Spez be supporting all their riders no matter what country they are representing? Guess it would depend what type of arrangement they have with their trade team? or ow does it work?

I reckon the Spez trade teams will send (and by the looks of things have) sent their mechanic and support staff for all their trade team riders and Sagan by the look of things regardless of nationality .. not sure how someone like James Reid will be assisted as he doesn't ride for the trade team.. and I don't see him in the pic above.

That explains why Mrs Venter is there then (being Spez MTB team organiser or whatever)

 

However it raises the issue or possibility of the privileged few (with trade team arrangements) getting better technical support & bikes which puts them at an advantage?  How much of a factor is that? Surely they will get the latest & lightest, best suspensions, best tyres etc

I reckon that the Wimmin's race is wide open, with the recent WC results and some ladies being so unpredictable in warmer weather and coming back from injury.

Kandice is there with the usual trade riders regardless of country. Sauser also there for the team. I don't believe they have any "special" goodies. Pics I have seen are what we've already seen on James's bike. Hot wheels with new Rockshock fork. It's like any other World Cup event with them traveling and staying together.
