Very safe indeed. Haven't heard of a single incident there in the close to 2 years that they have been open. Have ridden there alone plenty of times, I live about 600m from the park so it is easy to pop in for a quick loop.

The perimeter of the park has a proper fence around it which is patrolled regularly as far as I understand.

Everyone in GP should go there at least once in my opinion. They also have trail-running loops for those interested.

Thanks, will give it a go on the weekend then

Had a lot of fun there last time I rode there.

Some really awesome berms on the trails.

Gave the jump line a go; ran out of talent spectacularly on the second last jump.

Went there recently and they had no ability to take cash. First time it's happened, was a disappointment. Never been a problem before

That's strange. Was it on the weekend?

It was a few weeks back, it was a weekend. Saturday afternoon, no more indemnities just filled in on a piece of paper. One of the foreman at the building area told me they don't really take cash and that I should buy a R300 ticket. He did give me change for my R50 and I did ride at least.

that sounds weird. I was there on Sunday 29th - no issues with indemnity form or taking cash.

BTW the trails are shaping nicely. I know Shaun of Trailwolf Cycles - decent guy and very professional. His crew has put in a lot of trail maintenance and upgrading.. Hope they do well.

Topic revival: So I am planning to spend a day at Wolwespruit, me riding and the wife running. How is the trails, distances, safety ect. I know about the shop and restaurant, my question is aimed at the condition of the trails ect.

I hope someone can help with info. I read on wolwespruit's FB page that the shop and restaurant is closed, but the park is open. Is it open only for permit holders, or is there perhaps someone that will collect entry money, or a honesty box? We will be travelling to Pretoria to make a day out, don't want to travel to find it all closed. Help and info will be appreciated.
