Upgrade Fox evolution with fit4

Hi,

Seen this upgrade recommended on a topic or two, but I would like to get a few opinions.

Spec 2013 fox evolution fitted to Scott scale 920.

The shock is poo but I have learnt to ride with it, I'm now at a cross roads buy a new shock or upgrade to fit4 damper.

Is this worth it, and what are the true cost. In my mind a R3000 upgrade including service sounds ok versus R7000 odd for a new Reba

Lastly recommendations to have the upgrade done in gauteng

Thanks

I will watching this thread as I have the same questions, so is the conversion a Fit and forget and the forks operation as in CTD is the same?

Or do I go and but a RS Revelation?

It's a completely new damper. No more CTD, which was a POS. It's now Open, Medium, Firm.

Vital sauce

Here's a thread on MTBR dedicated to it.

BTW - upgrade to FIT will be less outlay than new Rev. Reports are that the difference is HUUUUGE compared to the CTD shaite.

It also depends on how long the travel is set at. If it's 130 or above, I'd go Revelation or other RS, purely because that Fox 32 chassis is like a bit of wet spaghetti at higher travel levels (another thing that was improved int he 2016 version)

So much of hate for wet spaghetti :(

A lot of the stiction is in the damper, so the upgrade will make quite a difference. Evolution and Performance series forks have the same seals, bushings and stanchion coatings and the Performance series don't suffer from the same issues.

Thanks Droo. I thought that was the case, but wasn't entirely sure.

Thanks for the clarification Droo, its sounding more and more tempting ...

Will the upgrade also improve the small bump compliance?

I had this done about 2 months ago and I am still amazed by the improvement. it feels like a different fork. It was done by Chainworx in Durban. I cannot recommend this enough
