Wait, so people are now sitting down and counting links in a chain?

CWC just made my day

If a chain is 1 link too short it's useless. Risky strategy.

I have always got exactly what I ordered from CWC and in good time too. So I'm a repeat customer. But if I got a chain missing a link - would think twice next time and maybe check out the competition......

I know, but are people counting links or comparing the chains to ones they know are 114 links?

Just the idea of counting links brings a grin to my face.

If it turned out too short then I'd be counting the links [emoji12]

I'm pretty bummed about the service I have received from CWC...I've looked at the 1 x 11 XT upgrade kit on their site but never received it.

I'm going to look at it on another site now.

CRC ( chainreactioncycles) often package parts in bags not boxes, saves them ( and us) shipping costs and takes up less warehouse space, I know a few other online places do the same. Even at their flagship store in Belfast they have components in bags instead of boxes sometimes. Perhaps CWC are doing the same thing?

What is the story with OEM? I thought bike shops weren't allowed to sell OEM parts directly to us, that it's only meant for bike builds. Seems a bit unfair to the consumer that there is this distinction. Are OEM parts any different to their boxed counterparts. Should we be wary of shops that sell OEM parts direct;y?

It's really simple !! Just inform the customer as to what they are buying . If the item is oem just make a note on the add so we can expect a plastic packet and not a box . If it's come off a new bike just say so . So we can expect minor scratches etc . Problem solved ! Not a single compliant would be made in sure .

OEM is very common from CRC and Evans Cycles. Maybe scratched in transport? I have bought from many online stores and CWC are as good as the best. Any crap gets sorted with one phone call.

It's simple.if prices are way below rrp, then it's OEM. If within 7% of rrp then it's likely after market I.e. Boxed
