Ironman 70.3 Durban 2016

Durban had 3000 entries this year. Too many for the course from all reports.

 

A little birdie told me TriRock Cradle will have a different bike course this year which will be quite challenging and solve last years issues. The run will also be much improved. From all indications, going to be a really good race.

my experience of durbs was that the bike leg was easy.but then I am comparing it to east londen and everything else becomes easy.what caught me out was the flat run.flat flat flat for 21 km hurt me.was way to many participants and drafting was rife especially on that little funny loop in the end.

R2750 for a 5 and a bit hour race is rather steep.

 

R3750 is just insane.

Agreed the race was good but distance stuff up was disappointing

Just entered Durban. There must be less than 50 entries left I reckon. Should sell out in the next week or so. Then indulge in a winter off season which I have not done for 2 years

Crashed at the Argus yesterday and broke my collar bone.... hoping will be able to recover and get some training in before Durbs !!

Well, to date I have heard nothing about the Trirock Cradle event except a couple of months ago it was scheduled for 20th of March 2016. I suspect Trirock has folded. Pity as the Cradlerock event could of been big.
