Whisky. A glass or 2 of wine. Castle Lite (seriously - FAR lower carbo count)

But first prize is the pure spirits like whiskey and vodka etc.

I like the spirits....but beer  it will have to be Castle Light.......

Those make Tumbleweed buy silly shoes, I'd beware of them ....

Of course, being the East Rand, more people were worried about the shoes than the fact that someone was lying on the floor checking out the clouds..

On target for my weight goal...

Bwahahahahaha! I've been behaving myself of late, although from that pic last night, you wouldn't think so!

ahh, had to interpret ...behaving myself.... in a different light given you were lying on the floor looking at the clouds...

Hahahahahaha! The pic you're referring to was kinda mischievous!...This is what was at my feet at the time it was taken...Baliey and Molly after the mauling!

...but back to topic...one of the mates I had a chow with last night is on a mission to lose weight too. The other day, Werner scanned something - barcode? - on the label of my Beck's and it came up with the calories or kilojoules - never really paid attention to the difference. Seems there's an app for that.

Since most hubbers seem sorta tech-savvy, maybe peeps could list dietary info apps they use here? Or apps not to use?

still rooting for you!

Thanks, mate. Closing in on a year sober now

Fighting alcoholism is one thing. But, from what I have seen over the last 12 months, I reckon sugar addiction is far harder to kick.

That's kinda why I'm rooting for everyone in this comp!

TW, the app you want on andriod is myfitnesspal .. has a barcode scanner that gives you all the info. just choose your portion size and it adds the daily kilojoule intake.

also works out what your daily intake should be based on your goals.

helped me alot over the course of a month to see my eating habits - i ate alot, alot of the same things and there was zero variety in the diet. things have changed a bit and the weight has come down.

but the mince pie season is upon us, but at least I can have one  day  :whistling:

looks like Bailey and Molly need to enter this competition as well...... #justsaying

Yeah, you're right, but I'd rather see them round like that than the skinny little waifs they were when Rich and Egg rescued them.

So then manne....what do real men drink that want to lose weight......I love my beer too much......

I was thinking of a circumcision......but a sudden 12 kg. drop would make you guys suspicious......

I have a gut feel ( :whistling: pun intended) that excess consumption of beer / alcohol is the prime cause of weight gain with most of the people who are registering here as being over weight or in the > 85 kg and average height bracket.

Drinking water laced with a zero sugar cordial drink (flavour of your choice) at home instead of alcohol or a beer shandy from Windhoek lite and sprite zero when you go out with the manne.....goes a long way to keeping the kg's under control.

That is if you can ignore the jeers that will come when u order that lite shandy... just remember he who laughs last....

I tend to agree.....but I have a bunch of maergat friends who pack it back like very few can.......I think our biggest problem is carbs....we pack it on from young.....when young and active we are not affected.....at some point most us us let ourselves go....it's at that point the bum fluff hits the fan...we are over carbohydrated with all sorts of health issues.....
