In all honesty Quintana destroyed Froome on the mountains in the TdF, it was only his big push early on that saved him from loosing the yellow jersey.

Strange that Froome walked away with Polka dots after being destroyed in the mountains

Naa he did enough on the first mountain stage and by being in the right places to hold it, not that it was what he was after.

But in general Quintana hurt him near the end in the big mountains, Froome boxed smart putting in time early in the tour when he was strong.

Unfortunately that is the main topic of contention now.

Strange that Sagan won the green despite losing sprint after sprint after sprint  :whistling:  :whistling:

Sagan got lucky (again). Seems to happen year after year. If I remember correctly Quintana did not take a single stage win and came 2nd to Froome in the Polka dot competition.

Wow wow wow... Sagan got lucky?? I don't think that's how it played out? Unless I was watching a different race?

Yip Sagan is just another hacker. Didn't you know? Let the wise men of the hub educate you. I'm a massive fan but also a know-nothing.

Consistency is key. Sagan played the right tune every time in the tour.

He realised he wasnt beating the other sprinters so he got into breakaways and edged points anywhere that he could.

Quintana didnt take any stage wins but he slowly pulled time out of Froome, fortunately(or unfortunately depending on how you see it) he didnt have enough race left to pip Froome.

Don't think we watched the same race. Froome lost 30secs on the penultimate mountain stage and around a minute on the final mountain stage to Quintana but remained firmly in control.

Sagan took the green jersey because of his all round ability. Its all about consistency and his competitors ended up in the autobus when the road went uphill.

Im pretty sure we are agreeing on the Sagan side of things even if we dont realise it.

Maybe destroyed was a harsh term but Froome didnt lose time like that to Quintana in 2013.

I cant even remember what the original point were debating was!

I've been looking online for any reference to his current rivals numbers, but haven't found anything yet.

Back to the Velonews article:

Froome should be commended for releasing such information. His rivals have not.

100% agreed.

Contador have always been a strong climber.... he had that talent since ever... he will not turn into the best sprinter anytime soon.... :whistling:
