Had three models. 35/40/50.

They worked like advertised and I always paid much less than a comparative farming product. Build quality was slightly worse, however I think the 35 was the best unit they made. Was easy to use.

For someone wanting to break into the GPS with power market, it's a great price for a unit with all the function of a garmin. However, owning one, you still aim for a garmin. My 510 is better than anything else I've ever used.

So, short answer - would advise my friend who's starting cycling on a budget to get a Bryton. Would advise the same friend two years later to upgrade to a suitable garmin unit.

Think the nailed was hammered home sufficiently in the above post. Was happy with the product when assessed in isolation, but once you try a Garmin you realise the difference is worth the capital outlay.

Bryton rider 20 is aesthetic as **** though. Wood bang/10

Own a Bryton Rider 35 for some years now, still working like the day I bought it- best value for money GPS that works, good support too.

Will I buy again, absolutely!

Edit: did not use it for over a year, was left in a drawer...charged it overnight from the PC and worked again the next day for a ride

I have the Cardio 60 and Rider 35 and the Garmin 510. The Cardio 60 is amazing. My Rider 35 was awesome, and did everything I wanted to do, but the Garmin is just in a class of its own. Love both Garmin and Bryton. If you are on a budget and cant afford a Garmin, then Bryton is just as good.

I must say, Bryton's Customer service is definitely top notch. I had a problem upgrading my software of my Rider 35 the one time, and one of the technicians helped me at 21:30 to sync my bryton and do the upgrade. I must also mention that I did buy from Brytons website Directly.

If anyone is looking for a budget gps unit - try the new lezyne mini. I haven't played with one myself yet but the specs and price look right!

Had the 35 for a good couple of years, then bought a 50 a while ago. My wife still uses the 35 without any hassles. I love my 50 but i bought it secondhand for a bargain, if i was in the market now again i would go garmin as well.

As for experience, i had an issue with my HR monitor a couple of years ago, sent an email and got a very quick reply, had to courier it up to JHB (my account) they checked the strap was done so i had to buy a new one and had to pay for postage back to CPT again. But it was out of warranty so no surprises.

Funny how the people who vote no dont then give their reasons why???

I agree, would like to understand better what they do right/wrong.

They've launched a new range and I'm wondering how big a role pricing will play in the new year... Imported goods are getting extremely expensive, Bryton still seems to have very decent value when it comes to pricing.

Had the Rider 35 for a long time, upgraded to the 40 and never had any issues, Battery life is awesome. Ballistic Bike are great with their support, who are the agents. Their new range now has bluetooth too for instant uploading.

Girlfriend has the Rider 21, which is nice and simple and does everything that she needs it to do.

December I treated myself to the Garmin 520 for my bday, using ebucks, didn't cost me anything... Festive500 and DeathByLiveSegments was fun, sort of...
