HBO Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I Currently do the LCHF thing and found that I will easily loose 1- 1.5 kg's during the week, but on Saturday I pick it all up again. I'm just too friggin hungry after a ride I munch the whole day. Mostly healthy stuff like nuts (lots of calories , I know) droe wors, biltong, fruit and sometimes biscuits and sweets that I bum of the kids I'm gonna give this IF thing a shot and see how it goes. This Saturday will be the last short-ish ride that I will do in a fastened state. From next week the distance and intensity will start increasing and I will have some oats prior to the ride.
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Just had a client meeting at Slug & Lettuce. So many crafties to choose from and complimentary popcorn! But went for an Americano and the popcorn tin was still full when I left...

Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Down to 109 again. Dinner was 1 1/2 chicken fillets and 2 cups of steamed broccoli in butter. Ended the day on 1,800 kcal. Breakfast today 1 scrambled egg, 1 pork sausage & 2 strips of streaky bacon.

I'm sure water retention is from too much salt not too much water... did some prelimary googling and it seems to confirm that but I didn't get any decent articles on it. Maybe someone else can take it up

Maybe someone else can take it up I also read a few articles pointing out that salt could be a cause of the water retention. Salt, like sugar is hidden in many of the foods we consume.

eccc whippet Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 my wife is sticking 100 % to her diet (weighless)...she weighs her food...eats when she is suppose to and eats a little extra if you hasnt filled her quota for the day...she has dropped 2.5 kg since friday last week...she only spends 10 minutes at low intensity on the trainer...other than that she sits at a desk all day.

eccc whippet Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 testosterone...the lack of it...could that be the problem...reading more and more about us older folk lacking it...which results in a tube around the gut and a few other issues.had a chat with a mate (same age) today and he is also battling with his weight...he went for tests which indicated he required a boost...he got a shot yesterday for it...will be interesting to hear the results. there is a video which keeps popping up in you tube which shows a pic of a 53 years ballie...sporting lean body...watched a bit of the video and they talk about testosterone. i thought only if the little fella didnt stand at attention when checking out some tidy stock or you haveing dirty thoughts about the lady sitting opposite you in the office...or you fixing the network cable under the desk and look up...you know what i mean could it be that there is more to it ? time to do some more research.
Veebee Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 probably thinking too hard about this weight loss thing without giving it a solid run, and expecting too much from 2-3 weeks of eating healthy. Remember its a long road, don't be demotivated by short term results, or the lack of it. Push on, give it 2-3 months. It took me a solid run of about 6 months to go from 106 to 89 last year. Yes I am much younger but without commitment and determination it won't be possible.
