If only good tasting dark chocolate wasn't that expensive...

1 cheat "MEAL" [not cheat "DAY"] once a week isn't bad, it helps keep you on the rails.

Want to loose 5kg in a week (first week)? Here's how.... Drink 4L of water a day.

Remember that you can overhydrate... 4l might be too much for some. You don't want to lose weight in a manner that may well be detrimental to your general health/well being.

Touché... I meant just the first week... Not recommended as the norm.

rest days and cheat days are the only way forward....

Would be interesting to know how the 'use of' cheat meals/days relates to the success of a new eating 'plan'?

Question being how many people go off the rails after a cheat meal or day ..... now rest days on the other hand those I am all for

As an aside I am 1 year and a few days into my new lifestyle and I haven't felt better in years or even enjoyed riding my bike as much and despite those who said I wouldn't be able to sustain it (some for health and energy reasons) it works FOR ME

TBH, that's one of my main drivers in this whole thing. Not to be panting like a priest in an orphanage when i reach the top of the hills. A 20kg difference would REALLY help.

20kg? Easy peasy...Intermittent Fasting and a Sufferfest video session every morning on the spinner... Don't knock it till you've tried it ;-) I've dropped from 106kg to 86kg end of 2013 in about 3 months.

1 April will be a year for me with the new lifestyle, almost 20kg down in this time, and have never felt better. Haven't had this kinda fitness and endurance since in like 14 years.

How do you do the intermittent fasting?

Very true, was chatting to a mate about this - it's too easy to say, oh I've eaten badly today I might as well carry on and start again tomorrow or next week.
