You riding with tubes? 3 bar sounds way too hard. (unless you weigh 120kg+  :whistling: )

I'm anywhere between 82-85kg, rolls on Vittoria Barzo up front, and Vittoria Saguaro at the back. This on 29"

Pressure front = 1.9bar

Pressure back = 2.0bar

No problems anywhere, rocks, sand, hardpack....

89 without clothes (not a sight to behold). Rode 2 bar front and back. Being my first last year, I opted safety first, and inserted tubes. Tubeless Ikon front and crossmark rear this year. Keen to try 3 bar, until needles pitch up in the hands, shoulders hurt and the teeth fillings are coming loose. I will then deflate and probably swear at myself for sacrificing comfort for speed on a hardtail. The idea is to do a scenic six hour. Anything less than my 5:20-ish last year will be a bonus. Between now and then I still have to turn 51.

I'm also 89 and 3 bar on a hardtail is not that bad, even on more technical routes. But don't expect to corner hard. Managed 4:18 on that last year with 3 stops to get the chain back on the chainring. Last time I rode with Rapidè because after changing back to Kitted I have never once had to stop for that again. Last year was on a 1x10 so I am hoping for a better time this year on the 2x10 I recently bought. Will change it to 1x10 after K2C.

I send an email to Zandile...

in 2015 there were 4300 people who entered. Total finishers were 3700...

Here's a thing: 2015 results on racetec have 2693 finishers?

And it's not the cut-off that's reducing numbers - last rider in has a time of 8h50 and some seconds.

Did not Start and Did not finish?

I know a couple of years ago they were handing out the dinner vouchers to anyone they saw as there were so little people at the registration the day before.

How is the food there?

Lots of food to choose from.

Start off with pasta, followed by a couple of cold ones ,then some braaivleis and roosterbrood and you will be strong for the next day.

NEE man, nou maak jy my eers seenuweeagtig.

Een vuurhoudjie om 'n woud aan die brand te steek. 'n Box om 'n kampvuur te begin. Jy stress te veel. Ons ry deur die Knysna woud. Jy gaan baie vuurhoutjies oor hou. Sterkte. Jy is seker "overprepared" en net beskeie. Kan ook nie meer wag nie. Die nuwe wiele is oppie bike.
