Ordered mine yesterday afternoon about 2pm and arrived this morning about 9am .... jissie just cannot fault the service

Will do the conversion some time this afternoon, intend to take pics and a short write up about it. Lets see how long it takes and how easy the shifter change is ... that's the part I'm interested in

All things being equal I can start riding it tomorrow morning already at Thaba, a good test but I'm sure (no sorry I know) Wayne has used his through there already!

Besides the riding this is for sure my next favourite part about being a cyclist! Wayne better just be sure he has those oval NW's out before my birthday in May  :whistling:

my 11-40 cassette and chain are lying on my desk patiently waiting for home time. I stuck with 10spd though.

Also ordered yesterday from Wayne, stuff arrived this morning before 9.

So no Shimano I take it then? Only a SRAM fix.

Hi Steven,

Only SRAM. The Shimano shifters are made in a way that makes mods difficult.

Slight hijack.

I have an SLX shifter and SLX derailleur all 10 speed.

Would a 11 speed shifter allow the derailleur to operate as a 11 speed?

Meaning only 11 speed cassette, chain and shifter needed to go 11 speed??

Hi Steven,

If you get say an XT11 speed shifter, an 11 speed cassette and chain it should work just fine. If the SLX rear derailleur is a Shadow Plus Clutch model even better.

Kiwi you guys deserve all the praise and well wishes in the world. No other company has answerd my ongoing questions via e-mail 9pm. And to back that up the great products. Rock on guys! All of the best!

hmmmmm.....

makes me wonder if I pair an XX 10 speed rear der to an XX 11 speed grip shift if it will work....

Should do Monark. Not sure how the derailleur cage will handle the 42 but with a couple of twirls of the B screw it should be ok.

as long as its a long cage rear derailleur it will cope. Remember XX 2x10 is designed around 24T small ring and 36T sprocket.

24/36 = 0.6667

32/42= 0.762

28/42=0.6667

so the derailleur will handle the Tooth difference down to a 28T chainring on a 29er and 30T on a 650B is well within capacity.

Just remember its a not a type 2 so it moves vertically and therefore you may need a chain guide
