I've been hit 3 times. Once by a student who took the backwheel from under my ass, once by a old tannie on the SIDEWALK, and then a hit and run by a Mrs Alberts from Stellenbosch who promptly drove off.

Between us me and the Mrs knocked over 2 cyclists, a goat, a chicken, 2 baby monkeys, 2 guinea fowl and two fighting pedestrians during 10 yrs in Malawi - but never had trouble on the bike.

The one accident that was probably (but not certainly) my fault was when I was hit by a tree whilst reversing in a game park there.

They say there are 2 types of cyclists.  The ones that have fallen, and the ones that must still fall.

I'm the first type, didn't see the cat eye in the road, and met up with it, face first.

Albany truck.... And now it has gone to lawyers cos the lying b*****d said we skipped the yield sign and rode into him while he was stopped at the stop street. Albany Bakery, their insurance company Alexander Forbes and the lawyers.... rot in hell!!!! Your driver could have killed us the lying swine.

Got hit by a bakkie that went through a stop, and on another occasion took a serious tumble as a result of my chain breaking while standing on the pedals. Almost forgot, was taken out by a car turning into a parking bay without indicating.

The close calls are too many to mention, as I'm sure you all know.

Also been hit by stuff thrown from vehicles, maybe that's something for a separate poll: what's the worst incident you have had involving a motorist?
