I'm new to racing, so just want to be sure what I'm getting myself into! The info won't really make too much difference, just want to see up front

It's a tough one. IMO it't the hardest USN race of the lot.

Plenty climbing (some technical) and properly rocky in places (only short distances).

50km - I recall it was more like 45km or close to that and over 900m climbing.

Some nasty surprise climbs in the last 15km or so.

Looking forward to Saturday!

So not the brightest move on my part to choose this as my first 50km event? Oh well. Time to suffer.

This is the best and probably hardest 50km route in Gauteng .If you manage to ride everything reasonably quick ,you will be knackered afterwards .

Can't fault you on it being a tough ride. But harder than Haka Nissan marathon? Hau, can't belief.

Marathon or half marathon .Hakahana is tough .There is very little recovery time in the Avianto route .My HR goes up and stays up for most of the route

For only my second SAS event, it looks as though things are working much smoother than reported (so far)

I've received my seeding and start time via SMS and email, so let's hope the rest goes as smoothly! I was very cheesed off with them regarding how long it took to get the Modders Night results out, maybe there website is a well greased machine now :)
