So who else attended today?

As per usual there were thousands of kid's having the time of their lives.

Supprised that there has been very little chit chat from the parent's on this site regarding the event.

Our eldest foods his ninth junior tour today, and will be doing the big no. 10 next year. ....his Mich younger brother did ride no. 2 and loved it.

I was there for my 2 year olds first, we loved it. what would've been cool is if we could've gotten mom to be a co-pilot not sure why we never thought of it when we registered, but hopefully next year we'll do it that way.

Junior Tour was a blast, Daughter put her tool kit in the trunk of her trike. (Play cooking utensils)

She suffered quite a few mechanicals.

Just hear, ohh no! I say whats up, she then needs to check her wheel.

Then we stop

She grabs something from trunk like little egg beater, taps wheel, wiggles handle bars, puts "tool" back in trunk and off we go. Started the 1.7KM at 8:00am, finished 8:48am. So lekker fun.

Hopefully once she gets to a two wheel bike it is more reliable :w00t:

Must be packed out.

I see the max age limit is 12.Is that not a bit big?

My son did his first Argus at 11

Abilities vary?

How many other 11 year olds did your son see out there when he did his first Argus?

kids ride in batches relative to their age groups....youngsters first with the older kids later.

To do the full CTCT you have to be a min of 13 years of age or 11 years if on the back of a tandem with an adult.

1. Cape Town Cycle Tour Entry Requirements

1.1       To compete in the Cycle Tour, riders must in the year of the event turn:

1.1.1       13 (thirteen) years old; or

1.1.2       11 (eleven) years old if riding on the back of a tandem with an adult.

Got quite a shock when I saw what looked like an 11 year old in my start group yesterday - in 1J, I then realised that she was on a tandem, only strange thing was, she had already done 15 tours acording to her race number? :whistling:
