Hope the recollection of the actual events make it to the FB page as well, seems like the villagers are ready to attack the owners.

And while we're at it, I hope VG sue some of the haters for defamation...you know...your names are all next to your comments on FB...

And Eric is a lawyer by training...

No where in the posts have I seen a comment "ag shame leave the poor doggy alone"  as are comment's such as "what if it was your child"  and ridiculing them based on the original story. Tragic that the dogs are not there out of choice but out of circumstances, circumstances that we humans created , I'm sure they would much rather their circumstances be different.

Madmarc has given an account of what he witnessed and it seems reasonable action was taken if the owner did explain his actions.

What i luv about this thread...there are a hell of a lot of if's involved

not referring to your post either :whistling:

According to Madmarcs post it would appear that the exaggeration factor was high right from the beginning

EDIT:

DIE ENDE / THE END

A jackal pales in comparison to a wild Rottweiler-sized dog.

Agree, those things scare the crap out of me...

Saw on two seperate occasions(was on a boat on Inanda dam) guys using these dogs to hunt duiker.... Having a full view of the bank and the hunt I can honestly say its one of the sickest things I have seen.

I agree...read them yesterday and joh some people even the dog lovers clearly have built up anger issues and are venting

It's crazy. Make me wonder how many of these keyboard ninjas have even been to VG. I'm sure a large amount of those tjops are just jumping on the hate train to have there say so they feel better.

Ja. I think the big aggravating factor here is how we live our "civilised" lives, far removed from life and death. Then we "see" something like this, and it upsets us. Then go on to apply our morality to the perceived situation.

No one likes hanging out at an abattoir or even a dairy farm - it's ugly, but the majority of us like our steak & tjoppies.

Perhaps introduce more of these at VG

...good cardio

To me - that looks like a cyclist chasing an ostrich chasing a cyclist.... what came first - the ostrich or the bike?

The Facebook comments are priceless, all that uninformed, blinkered and rabid narrow mindedness, I can now kind of see why despite how terrible their leader is many people still vote unequivocally Anc, it's just a universal part of human nature.

What did Madmarc say happened, can't see his post anywhere?

My wife came back from her ride at VG on Sunday, and told me Eric shot a dog on his property. Told me the animal was killing livestock.

Told her then, this is the nature of farm life. Once these dogs get a taste for easy pickings they cant really be stopped or rehabilitated.

This is not a public place, it is private property, where the owner may do as he seems fit within the law.

Move along.... There really is nothing to see here.

Cant wait for my next ride there... and after this I will not have to worry about rabid dogs trying to take a chunk out of my slow-ass calf.

Big difference to what he did vs, me sorting out the neighbor's FKN cat that pisses against my garage door and on the kid's trampoline
