It has been very dry so I think by the time we ride tomorrow the 5mm rain that fell will have been soaked up making for some steady surfaces.

Have to agree, no rain tomorrow and the drought effect will quickly soak up everything that falls today and tonight

The track will actually be perfect, nice and grippy

It is going to be cold, something like 0 degrees at the start

Gooi mileies mense...............

AccuWeather claims it will be 0 degrees, YR seems to think it will hover about 4 degrees - either way it will be blooming cold.

Bring the whole family. Just maybe it will be little different :-) Comment from someone that is related to the organizers "Pragtige en unieke Suid-Afrikaanse baba- en kinderklere van Little Meraki en Minimo by die Autumn Splendour-fietsresies  Saterdag in De Doorns. Ook cupcake versiering, face paint en sand art, 'n klein springkasteel vir 0-3 jariges in die saal en 'n 8m lange-springkasteel vir die groter kinders. Smul aan lekker gebraaide prawn-, lam- en hoendersosaties van Lovey's, craft beer van Mountain Brewery en barista-koffie van Café Hugo. En dan kan jy natuurlik ook fietsry... Skryf in vir die pret 5km, pragtige 15km, 35km of die taai 55km."

Temp should be between 6 (early Morning) and 16 degrees. With no wind. In the Mountain area it tends to be slight warmer. Excellent cycling day. Should be hard and fast. Drying of nicely with the wind we are currently having. A must for tomorrow! A lot of Autumn colours still on the vines. BEAUTIFUL!!!!  Nice job Ryno!

Loved it, my 6th time and also my best, 2:40 on the 51KM. It was probably the coldest one I have done so far but in the end the weather was perfect. Having this event a bit later in the year meant there was more natural light in the tunnel which was awesome. Please try to keep it in June if possible in future.

My only complaint is the p....s poor marking. The whole MC-ME (expect me) went straight down the main road and joined MA because the marking and marshaling was not sufficient.

If you are going to use chalk instead of signs then you should also CLEARLY mark X where people should NOT turn off. Big and clear ARROWS are needed where they should go. Honestly in my 6 years of doing this the marking was the worst this year, probably the worst of any ride I every did.

What the bad marking meant was I got to the single track behind rather slow riders which was a bit of a buzzkill but the rest of the ride made up for all that. Loved it and as always I will be back next year.

Thanks again for an awesome event.
