Have just been contacted by a some one in the technical department From omnico. A guy called Bradley asking if I can send my fork back to them so Russell when back on Tuesday can make the call. I believe Russell is a manger and the only one that can make this call.

I also received a reply via email from the sales Director, Vincent Stevens.Asking me to send the fork back for his attention and he will have a senior technician look at the fork again.

I did ask Bradley how many forks have they had that brand new out the box that have had the issue of only being able to use 20% of its travel. He reckons mine is only the 2nd one.

So will box the fork again and send it of and hope that this gets resolved by a replacement fork. I don't want this fork back regardless ,it's a bad apple in my mind and will never be right.

At least I have progress and will hopefully get what i paid for.

So far they seem willing to sort it out and for that I am relieved.

Great news, good luck!!

Now just to get your original box back.....or is that too much to ask   :whistling:

I rode Pikey's bike towards the end of our ride with the fork in question for a couple of km's and let me say, if that's what is expected from such a fork for the price paid I will be remaining with my Suntour RD 32!

I am glad to see that there may be a resolution to your problem in the 'near' future but still not right that you have had to go to such lengths for so long to just get to this point!

Too soon for #OmnicoMustFall ?

can I get my fork sorted first ????????

It is encouraging that a senior decision-maker at Omnico appears to be taking ownership through asking for the return to be marked for his attention.

This bodes well for an informed decision, one which takes into account the entire customer experience, perceptions around quality, concerns relating to local market support practices, brand reputation / reputational risk.

The suppressed cynic in me however screams that you should insist that the decision-maker(s) give you clear line of sight to some WHAT-IF scenarios .... so that you clearly understand what their commitment is if/when the fork is found to be defective!

You certainly don't want to simply be placated with a quick morphine injection, only start the whole roller-coaster process all over ...

Keep us posted mate; many eyes on this one!

Am staying positive for now that the outcome will be the right decision .

I suspect that it very much depends who you deal with at Omnico (and I cannot be classified historically as a fan) - but I am open to this being proved either way.

My last dealing with Omnico was however brilliant - called them up - asked for the stages guy, and he was both friendly and helpful (and gave me a couple of things to do to see if the resolved the issue on the pm) - and sent (couriered - free of charge) new seals and covers up - called on tuesday and my lbs had them on thursday.

So - next step is to sent the pm back for a check (given that the issue was not resolved) - and we will see how they perform, but so far, so good.

I am enthused by the positive results achieved thus far in your dealings with omnico. I hope it carries on and your issue gets resolved.

As I am sure you have read mostly only negative dealings with omnico have been posted and i must confess I feared the worst. A long drawn out saga that fades in to nothing bar me left holding a fork that I can't even eat my dinner with.

You could always send it to Droo - as a last resort..... :)

(yes he has worked on my forks before)

It seems you have decided that the only way for them to do good is to give you a new fork?

What if they open it and find a dud damper, replace it and send you the fork with a new damper (or air spring etc) will you be happy?

What if they find the fork really is mechanically perfect, that it rides like designed, and that your settings really was wrong?

What if they find the fork really is mechanically perfect, that it rides like designed, and that you are expecting something that the fork can't deliver because you believed reviews that was paid for by Fox Head int and thus it is just an average fork.

Will you still then be throwing your toys out the cot?

I dunno man, I really hope for your sake that they find a mistake and that you are happy when you get your fork (or a new one) back.

Had the same brilliant service when Stages gave problems. No questions asked, send it back and we'll get you a new unit.

that every single setting I tried was wrong ? And every single air pressure setting for that case to?

Something that the fork can't deliver like what ? Small bump compliance over corrugation so your arms don't go numb . Or ? Am intrigued.

Do you believe it's just an average fork ? Strange that you would come to that conclusion do you own one? And what dictates average ?

"Throwing my toys out the cot' I won't be happy for sure ,but by the sounds of it it wouldn't bother you .

It's not like I haven't been patient and tried to sort it,after all said and done all I want is a fork that performs ,works as fox say it does. That's all. No freebies or 5 min of fame ,just a fork that functions .
