Bonus Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Shame man - Kruijswijk has ridden his bike to the far side of the car park and he's distraught. Respect to his riding over the last few day
Oxter Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Summersault over your handle bars is never a small crash, even in the vicinity of snow Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
'Dale Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Kruijswijk's crash on the descent changed the entire race but it was Orica who kicked things off on the first climb with Chaves, Nibali and Kruijswijk going clear as Valverde and Majka faltered. Zakarin crashed out on the descent and left the race with a broken left collar bone as Nibali and Chaves linked up with teammates and put more time into Kruijswijk.
'Dale Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 And here are the GC standings after today's stage: 1 Esteban Chaves (Col) Orica-GreenEdge 78:14:202 Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Astana Pro Team 0:00:403 Steven Kruijswijk (Ned) Team LottoNl-Jumbo 0:01:054 Alejandro Valverde (Spa) Movistar Team 0:01:485 Rafal Majka (Pol) Tinkoff Team 0:03:596 Bob Jungels (Lux) Etixx - Quick-Step 0:07:537 Andrey Amador (CRc) Movistar Team 0:09:348 Rigoberto Uran (Col) Cannondale Pro Cycling 0:12:189 Kanstantsin Siutsou (Blr) Dimension Data 0:13:1910 Domenico Pozzovivo (Ita) AG2R La Mondiale 0:14:11
HappyMartin Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I hope Chaves goes to bed real early and gets a good solid sleep. Would like him to win the Giro. Niballi is going to hit him hard tomorrow. Be amazing if Kruijswijk can make a come back but I think it's over for him. Very sad. He rode like a champ.
Underachiever Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I am absolutely gutted for Steven K!!!!!!! Hope he can put in a good fight tomorrow!!
GrumpyOldGuy Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 What happened to "not attacking the jersey if he crashes"? Unwritten rules, honor in the peleton and all that.!
Tumbleweed Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 First stage I have got around to watching...Glad I picked this one! Anyone want to give me a quick catch-up or just tell me what to watch for tomorrow? :-)
Oxter Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I thought it was only for a mechanical that you dont attack?? If he cant go round a corner properly, should the rest wait for him. Anyway, I dont think they attacked him at that point, was just a lekka downhill and they did not pull the brakes Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

Never the less, it is what it is.

Anyone want to give me a quick catch-up or just tell me what to watch for tomorrow? :-)I haven't watched them all, but in a nutshell, Chavez looked strong, Nibali looked weak (until today..) and Kruijswijk was very safe in the jersey, looked solid as a rock actually, he crashed, no one waited and he had to ride all alone and lost Pink. He probably also lost his spirit and used up a ton of energy, tomorrow is a big mountain day and Chavez has a slender lead, luckily Astana have Vino as a sports director, so I expect him to give them all a real pep talk tonight and they will all be strong like Russia tomorrow. I feel for guys like Chavez and Kruijswijk.
