Yes, i was there before asking the question.

IIRC, there was a big ruckus last year about the distance being much longer (7km) than advertised.

Also, "NISSAN TRAILSEEKER Marathon  The route for 2016 is still being finalised." and

Ascent: Tba.

but thanks anyway.

According to the profile put up of facebook its around 71.08km with 579m gain. That's if you believe them!!

Ah yes now I remember. See link: https://www.strava.com/activities/380159242

I hit the wall so hard in that last 7km! I had absolutely nothing left in the tank at 70km because I tried for a sub 3h on 70km. I had no more fluids in my bottle....nothing. Longest 7km I rode in a long time!

The funny bit was everyone speeding past the last water point which should have been around 5km from the end...12km later we all regretted skipping the waterpoint

"189 - extreme suffer score - SUFFERFEST"

hahahahaaaa....you weren't joking

Also, i note from the profile that the race is going to be run in the opposite direction this year.  Should make it a bit easier.

That was exactly my reasoning at that stage. I thought why stop it's only 5km to go, so finished my last fluids and that should get me to the end.

Then there was the decomposing cow just after you turned off the tar road as you went over the N4 which you could smell and taste for km.

I remember how tough the "reverse" route was last year and speeding past the last water point only to run out of fluids.

This year I'm a bit of a softy and only doing the Half (first race for the year).

Also in for the Marathon in C.

At the Lion Man they marked the last 10km with a board counting down the kms to go. If the distance is out, at least you'll know 10km before the end. Hoping that they do that again.

Also C batch marathon. Just to confirm, its again at curro college?

Nope.

At the cowshed.  About 1km from Curro.

Same road.  You just continue straight onto the dirt road which will lead you straight to the Cowshed.

Nice venue and I am sure the weekly market will be there too.

If you are a whiskey man, remember to go taste the only single malt produced in SA......not bad.  ;)
