everytime i think about this it makes me mad.

This guy will never walk again. He doesnt have medical aid, let alone disability insurance.

And his life has irreparably changed because he stood up for a pregnant woman being bullied by thugs

ok so 330k is great, but it wont go far if he's paralyzed

i shattered a bunch of bones in my arm last year and the medical bill was close on 500k.

i really hope overseas media can pick this up and really make a difference

Will the government hospital not deal with the hospital etc? The cash I reckon would help with physio, any adaptions to living conditions etc?

Obviously more is better for whatever it needs to be spent on :)

True, obviously.  But my point was more along the lines of the fact that it's gone up by R80k in the last 4/5 hours which is pretty good going.

It's not the end yet, and the amount is constantly going up.

From my understanding there is a glimmer of hope that he could have mobility again, albeit a very very faint one from reading the stories. Just some positivity, not meant to be insensitive.

Matt I was kidding around. I don't think anyone would make light of his situation.

Never give up hope. My dad had a severe stroke 2 years ago after heart surgery went wrong, the neurologists said we are lucky to have him around. He lost complete mobility on the right and his speech completely. 2 years later he his mobile again with walking aid and starting to speak again.

Sometimes doctors just go for the worst and don't really give hope to the patient or their families, I hope that August makes it through this and then has the will power to fight through the recovery.
