Yeah I think I was only like 5 mins behind you at the finish but I was shattered and my legs cramped up so I just went and sat in the shade for a bit and then went home. Hopefully I'll be at haka next weekend. I'll make sure to bring along a master link in future. I totally understand about the cramps if you don't pedal they get you sometimes. I'm determined to be fitter in time for the next juma. At least it will have helped a little towards hakahana.

I hope it helps for Haka... there is a lot more climbing there!!!!

I was just as shattered, crossed the line, collapsed... contemplated slipping into something more comfortable, like a coma...decided to go home instead!

We will be riding there this saturday at 8am if you keen to join!

Hmm. Tempting. I'll give it some thought.

The race was well organised so no complaints there. Good start area, no bottlenecks, interesting route and great finish zone. Big up to the Anatomic water point. Now that's how its done and to the tech zone there which was most friendly and helpful. Whacked myself properly on a hidden pipe in one of the tunnels but no harm done, thanks goodness for decent helmets......BUT.......I don't think I will go back. Some of the areas were disgusting and yes, its the reality of JHB but for a few hundred bucks I don't think riding a route where you get warned to be careful of the poo is very appealing......If some areas weren't so filthy and the danger of getting sick wasn't so prevalent it would be a great day out. Nice vibe by most of the riders out there......

Tour de POO-li?

Well done, Juma! Had a great day out. Loved the camaraderie and banter. Well done to the marshalls who spent the day in the sun for our enjoyment. You guys are fantastic. See you next year.

I thought that poo sign was so cool I rode to Grayston this evening to fetch it. It was still there. Its new home is my bike room.

Grossly underestimated it, I must say! It broke me and my bike, but really enjoyed it.

I had to try and figure out (being tall) how the hell to ride through those small tunnels. I watched someone draped over his handlebars easily go through and thought I would give it a shot. Needless to say I smashed my pip on a low concrete pillar.

The race was well organised and brutal at the end.

To the dude who folded himself in half after the Conrad bridge drop off, hope you recovered. Stuck around for a bit and he seemed ok.

To the knobs at the unintended bottle neck (I am talking to you Santa cruz and your hipster skinny jeans wearing mate) - EVERYONE wanted to ride and trying to skip the queue and then push in front of me going down the ramp... you're a fist class tjop.

Good final salute on my bike. Now to invest in another.

Thank you JUMA and looking forward to seeing the photos!

Think the gent was someone I know. If he was riding a Dale, landed up getting his collarbone sorted today, and his wrist to follow shortly.

The Juma strikes again!

Enjoyed the ride, even though the change in direction seemed to dumb it down a bit... I was looking forward to the step downs in the water channel, as opposed to going up, but all in, an improvement over 2014 as they were no bottlenecks.

Only issue I have is with the timekeepers. It seems outdated. Because it was an adventure, we decided to ride together as mates, but by falling back to a later batch, we got the batch start time... How do the guys at 94,7 not have this issue?

Regardless of the 1 hour penalty on the time, it was epic riding with mates. Look forward to 2017

There was a lady who was trying to get the whole lot of us to turn around because she was convinced we were all going the wrong direction! Was quite funny. "We're going the wrong way! I'm telling you I did this race last time and we are going the wrong way! Turn around, there is going to be 800 cyclists coming toward us if we don't turn around!" At the 40km mark we saw her again (she obviously didn't turn around herself) and she says : We're still going the wrong way" - at least as a joke this time!

Did anyone else come across her?

I would have had more of you but you were a bit old  :P

Fixed it for you....  :)

Probably should not have raced - resting HR was 25bpm up.... and it stayed that way the whole race - chest still not 100% after that.
