I am just wondering if Vetseun's good deed has now backfired in his face.  I hope not.

Thats what it sounds like.

Hopefully when he comes back from patrolling the streets of Bloem, he will give us more info.

Sharing is caring

Come now Vettie, it's Friday!!!

Ek is net nuuskierig?

Did the "thief" steal his bike back? :whistling:

Did you derail a potential insurance claim? :whistling:

Did the owner accuse you of removing parts from the bike when you return it? :whistling:

Were you not happy with the steak and kidney pie the owner offered as reward :whistling:

Whatever happened, you deserve a bells and you will always be the Public Protector of Bloemfontein in my eyes :w00t:

Ag okay... Nothing serious at all. Just peoples different perceptions of gratitude.

The owner of the bike had opened a case when the item was stolen.

He wanted to do the hand back properly and legally.

So he arranged with the investigating officer to withdraw the case.

I had to take the bike to the cop shop, my statement would be taken and the boere would hand the bike back.

I got to the cop shop, the owner met me and immediately did a thourough inspection, almost as if he suspected me of doing damage to the bike. ( Me been over sensitive probably)

Anyway, I meet the two officers investigating the crime.

The one took me to his office to take my statement, took a bloody hour.

When we were finished, I got outside and asked the other investigator where the owner and bike were. He told me that he had left ages ago with the bike.

Now please understand me: I never expected a reward or anything. A simple atta boy would have made it all worthwile.

Anyway, like I said, probably me been over sensitive.

And just for the record, the dutchie who the bike belongs to is enormous, he will rip my head off like an insect.

If he reads this and I disappear, you know who to look for.

Yoh.. I reckon a thank you beer would have at least been the minimum he could have done.

Well you are still OUR hero.
