Irrepressible adventure racer Martin Dreyer stunned the mountain biking fraternity this weekend when he became the first person ever to officially complete the treacherous 575km Ride to Rhodes race from Pietermaritzburg to Rhodes in the Eastern Cape in less than 50 hours, battling cold and snow, fatigue and sleep deprivation, to shatter the previous record by more than a day.

Huge respect to Martin. Besides the physical aspect of this ride his mental fortitude is phenomenal.

having done that little trip myself and dragging my sorry ass from one support station to the next barely alive after 10/12/14 hrs on the go - all I can say is YAAAAAAASSSSSSSUS!!!!!!
