Sticky rear derailer

Hallo, I recently bought a brand new Scott Spark 950 with a XT rear derailer. Problem now is that on the first ride even it is sticky and then change gears without touching the shifters. Could this be some sticky oil because it is new and will wash out over time or do I have a bigger problem?

The nice thing about buying new stuff is that you just need to take it back to where you bought it to get sorted out.

THIS

probably just needs a quick adjustment.

most bike shops throw in a "free" first service to sort out these type of issues

Badly assembled. Something's either loose or bent or the cable housing's too short and the suspension pulls on it when it compresses.

Take it back.
