I have only ever heard good stuff about the arc's and they are not very common. Should fit your needs quite nicely.

but those wtb are SOOOO wide. And so pretty. And they are only R1000 a rim where the arcs are R1400

where did you Get them. ANd how much. I have hubs so just need hoops

roshaambo on the hub built them for me. But spank most shops I reckon. I know trailhead in Jhb Sells them.

I looked at the arcs when building my spanks. I think it wa the arc 27's ??? But opted for the spanks instead. Just personal preference . But haven't regretted it for one second .

Wtb i35 front and a flow or arc rear.

I35 are super wide, will be super stiff and give u loads of front wheel traction.

Problem with wider rims though is that the rear tire side knobs get torn or wear very quickly, but maxxis have started making tyres for the wide rims like the "minion wt". They are hard to find at the moment. If u can deal with changing rear tires every few months then get a super wide rear.

Have been riding wide rims for a while (running 2 sets at the moment) and have never experienced that. Could it be the tires you are running or that you are putting out too much torque?!

Only this could / should happen is if the rim is so wide that it will bring the side knobs into play when pedalling and not even the widest rims are wide enough to do that. It serves to give the tire a ore rounded profile, but more so to get rid of the balloon effect.

I would go with Flow Mk3. Strong, reliable and bang up to date with their design and profile.

Edit: for reference the rims I'm running at the moment have an inner width of 35mm.

These spank oozy are bomb proof if you heavy on wheels .

And Spank has a local / SA connection, which is super cool.
